    Since ancient Rome, the art and science of interior design has been at work. From then through the Renaissance to modern times, almost every room, whether a home, business building, or restaurant, has brought in an interior designer and worked on the piece, making it functional for the people who use it while also still being eye-catching. However, the terms interior designer and interior decorator are used interchangeably, which is not the case. While interior designers only choose furniture and accessories to make a place pleasant, interior designers study people's behaviors and apply technical solutions to create a space that is both efficient in its use and attractive. Interior design has impacted every historical period in the way every culture lives up to modern times. Although the Renaissance period is considered the beginning of modern interior design, as the practice became more dynamic, it was not until recently, in the early 20th century, that interior design became a occupation. When designing a room, an interior designer can use their creativity to come up with the design they see as the best option and there is never a “good” or “bad” design. However, there are still some things that every interior designer must learn and follow while experimenting with their different ideas. You have to learn to use the fundamental principles of the practice well in order to get the most out of them and succeed in creating a piece that combines both functionality and style.
