Mars OneMars One is an organization and a future mission with many goals. Mars One plans to launch a one-way trip to Mars in 2025. By sending Mars One, scientists hope to achieve goals such as the survival of humans on Mars, the successful growth of plants and learning more about the planet. Mars One is a non-profit organization that operates primarily through donations to fund its missions (“About”). Mars One was founded in 2011, but was not known until a few months later (“About”). The Mars One organization was founded by a select team, and the mission of sending humans to Mars cannot be done without them. Many goals hope to be achieved and will have a huge impact on history and society. Mars is the fourth planet from the sun and is a journey with seven mouths (space.com). The reason the planet Mars is red is because its surface is covered in minerals that give it the appearance of the rusty color seen on Earth (space.com). Mars has a very thin and cold atmosphere, which should mean that water cannot exist, but water and ice have been discovered on the planet (space.com). When the atmosphere thickens, the planet will become habitable by humans (space.com). The ultimate goal of scientists is to have human life on Mars that can be...... middle of paper ...... most of what scientists know and need to know about conditions on Mars are known of Skylab, Mir and the International Space Station. Photovoltaic panels will power residential units on Mars. This mission has limits due to the budgetary cost. One problem that could arise later in the mission is how the astronauts on Mars will obtain the necessary resources they need to survive. Since there is no way to know if Mars' water can be consumed, Earth must send large quantities of water to Mars ("Technical Feasibility"). Astronauts also need to pay attention to the high amount of radiation on Mars (“technical feasibility”). Mars One plans to do great things in history and achieve great achievements for our nation.
