Essay / Globalization and its effects on businesses in industries...
GlobalizationIn this essay I would examine how globalization has affected the influence of businesses on industries in developing countries and what impact it has on our environment. I will begin by briefly reintroducing what globalization is and the changes it is bringing about. Then I will move on to answer the first part of the question by referring to some resources and examples, during this discussion I will also express my opinion on this topic. The second part of the question will be answered the same way as the first. After the gist of my argument, I will summarize and conclude. Globalization is the process by which the world becomes increasingly interconnected due to a massive increase in trade and cultural exchange. Globalization brings many benefits such as freer movement of capital, goods and services; larger companies are now able to operate in more than one country and, as a result, there are more jobs in less economically developed countries (LEDCs). Of course, there are some downsides, such as intense competition and a growing gap between rich and poor countries. First, I will examine whether globalization has actually strengthened and benefited industries in developing countries. One of the main benefits of globalization for developing countries is that trade barriers are significantly lowered, if not completely removed. This promotes and encourages exports to new countries, as previously LEDCs simply could not afford to export their goods to major countries such as the USA or the UK due to export taxes. high import levels that they had set. So it just wasn't worth it. But with free access to new markets, LEDCs have access to a much broader customer base, which should, in theory, significantly boost economic growth. Empiri...... middle of paper......this idea doesn't work properly. Based on facts and statistics, it seems that globalization has done more harm than good to developing countries. This may be because big countries can manipulate the IMF, World Bank and WTO to their own advantage without breaking any rules. To me, globalization appears to be a peaceful means for rich countries to steal and exploit poor countries. I agree that in some developing countries globalization has been beneficial and boosted their economic growth but there are not many examples of this, I would say these countries are an exception because according to statistics According to the World Bank, the majority of developing countries with strong import liberalization have experienced anemic or negative growth over the last 20 years. So overall I believe globalization is a great idea and concept but it is not fit for today's world..
