Since Arthur Miller began writing plays, until his recent death in 2005, he had never performed a play as well known as The Death of a Salesman This play was first performed in the late 1940s. It reveals the struggle of an exhausted old salesman, upset by the life he has created With the tension of his mistakes. pasts hidden in the back of his mind, Willy cannot handle the stress and begins to have hallucinations of the past about things he could have changed. 1.) Towards the end of Willy's life, he begins to realize. all the destruction of not only himself, but also his family, his marriage and his job... Who is responsible for all this destruction Or Willy himself? that question would be Willy himself. As Willy's life nears its end, he begins to have hallucinations, many of which involve a man. named Ben. It often appeared that Willy was jealous of Ben's life, asking him "Ben, I've been waiting for you for so long!" What is the answer? How did you do it” (84)? Willy always wanted to become a successful businessman, hoping to one day be able to pass on his skills to his children. It seemed like everything was going to go perfectly, Biff was going to graduate and be successful because of his good looks and be happy with him. “His blue suit. He looks so handsome in this suit. Seeing his father this way made Biff completely lose all respect for his father and everything he had said to him. But his death brought some good, it helped his sons understand him better, appreciating how hard he worked and the struggles he overcame. “Very well, my boy.
