    Criminal InvestigatorImagine pulling into your driveway and seeing your neighbor's house surrounded by police officers, flashing lights and caution tape with bodies covered in white sheets on the lawn . It was a drive by pull. Then a van pulls up and a criminal investigator gets out and begins assessing the crime scene. She begins taking photos, marking shell casings, packaging evidence, documenting tire tracks on the sidewalk, and inspecting and collecting DNA evidence from the bodies. Criminal investigators are highly trained college graduates who play a vital role in bringing criminals to justice. A criminal investigator is an exciting and ever-changing career that also helps make a difference. Criminal investigators help make a difference in a community by assessing and solving crimes such as burglaries, homicides, assaults and other problems in communities where criminal intent exists. Also after a crime has been committed, investigators will follow leads and may testify in court (“Criminal Investigator Job Description”). Some people who become criminal investigators were or are also police officers. Criminal investigators work with many people such as police officers, detectives, forensic scientists, and photographers to solve criminal cases. The job of a criminal investigator involves variable working conditions. Some days require long work days which may fall on weekends, days, nights, or even holidays (“Become a Criminal Investigator”). In some cases, a criminal investigator may be on call twenty-four hours a day (“Crime Scene Investigator”). There are also days spent strictly in the laboratory carrying out numerous tests and experiments. Days spent in the lab require patience as most of the tests and middle of paper......
