    When it comes to hookup and the different attitudinal patterns observed among college men and women, there is research to support it. The factors covered, how we define romantic relationships, social experiences, and gender all contribute to the topic at hand. However, Helm et. al, (2015) stated that more research is needed on gender differences. One thing is certain, double standards still exist, even if sexual relations are the norm (Reiber and Garcia, 2010). Why sexual relations became a norm is unclear, but there is speculation (Stinson, 2012). Finally, there are also inconsistencies and other factors that interfere with researchers' data. Some of the other factors are because most research focuses on heterosexuals and Caucasian Americans, which excludes people of other sexual orientations and ethnicities (Stinson, 2012). Also excluded are men and women who do not participate
