Essay / Advantages of cut-through architecture - 2476
In computer networks, cut-through architecture is a method used for packet switching system. In this system, the data frame or packets started leaving the switch almost as soon as they started entering the switch. Simply put, a sliced architecture does not store a data frame and then transmit it. On the other hand, the other device keeps the entire frame for a short time while the individual fields of the frame are examined, this procedure makes the overall network throughput very slow or decreases it. This method is known as the store and forward method. In contrast, cut-through architecture allows a switch to transmit data very quickly and improves overall network throughput, but cut-through also allows faulty frames to be transmitted, which is its main disadvantage. For example, a store and forward device will input the frame, perform several verification operations such as a cyclic checksum, detect the error, and perform some operations to check the error if the frames or packets are corrupted. However, a forwarding device is so fast that it starts transmitting the frame before the cyclic checksum and in this case a faulty frame was also transmitted. If the packet contains too many faulty frames and is transmitted over the network, the integrity of the network suffers greatly. .In many data centers, latency and jitter are the most important metrics. Even a small delay can negatively impact network performance. It is necessary to reduce jitter and delay in a deep cut network architecture. Director x stream and Ilinkagg x stream are programs based on a clipping architecture that provide the necessary low latency and predictable jitter that allows data center architects and designers to create the best solution. that I...... middle of paper ......REFRENCES(Sharon Besser, 2011).
