The Diabetes Prevention and Control Program plans to require those to use a diabetes registry; continue to advocate and promote to benefactors; and rely on education and prevention resources for patients (Diabetes Prevention and Control Program). However, most of these programs do not do enough to reveal and address the underlying reasons for poor health among rural residents. More programs need to focus on building stronger health systems in the country. Training existing health professionals is not enough; more health care facilitators and local community health workers are needed in the hardest-to-reach villages. Having hospitals and clinics means nothing when there is no infrastructure to enable people to leave their villages to get there. Providing care should not be the only goal, but also ensuring there is a way to get the most work done
