Essay / Impact of the Four Worldviews on the Research Process - 1285
The researcher must be aware of the context and minimize intrusion on participants by having as little impact on the research site as possible. Principle A: beneficence and non-maleficence. If the researcher does not respect the site, environment, and culture, he or she runs the risk of negatively affecting humans and non-humans in that area. Principle B: Loyalty and responsibility. Part of loyalty and accountability is establishing a trusting relationship with those with whom the psychologist works or studies. If the psychologist disrupts the site and disrupts the lives of others, he risks breaking the relationship and ruining this therapeutic or scientific relationship. Principle C: Integrity. The psychologist must not resort to deceptive practices to access protected sites. For example, if the research aimed to observe sacred ritual burial practices and was denied permission from a government entity, the psychologist should not enter the field simply to collect data.
