Location and Historical Facts Founded in 1842, Villanova University is located in suburban Villanova, Pennsylvania. Near Philadelphia, Villanova is primarily known for its university. The campus surrounds many famous towns and has a stunning rural feel (“About”). With a 260-acre campus, it is the fourth most selective Catholic university (“College Rankings”).
