    With these standardized tests, there is a time limit in which the student has to complete each subject. Having a time limit on a test does not give the child the opportunity to fully think through each question, leading to scores that could potentially be higher if given the opportunity to complete these tests at his own pace. Additionally, standardized tests do not take into account the different ways a child learns. If a child struggles with reading, for example, he or she may not be able to complete as many tests as a child who excels at reading. Due to their inability to read and understand the questions and answers as quickly as the child who excels at reading, the struggling child will likely not be able to answer the same number of questions in the same amount of time than the child who excels. The resulting test results would fail to demonstrate the struggling child's full capacity because the child may not have had sufficient time to complete the test. The No Child Left Behind program is based on creating equality for all children in their learning environments and was implemented with the hope of significantly increasing academic performance. According to an argument about the Common Core Standards, “No Child Left Behind has succeeded in significantly increasing academic achievement or positively affecting the education of undeserved Black and Latino students and has had a negative impact.
