Essay / Descriptive Essay on a Coffee Shop - 708
Stumptown Coffee Roasters I never really appreciated small local coffee shops while working at Coffee Bean, until I was hired at a local coffee shop serving Stumptown coffee. Stumptown has only one location in California, located in the South Downtown Los Angeles arts district. The coffee is huge and even less, they have their own roastery where they roast all their beans. Not only do they have their own roasting room, but they also have their own training lab for new baristas, which is unique because no other cafe has this. Speaking of which, I took a training course at Stumptown last month and it was a fascinating experience! Early on a Sunday morning when I was in my father's truck. When my dad dropped me off at Stumptown early Sunday morning for my first day of practice. I saw a large crowd of people gathered inside the store. At the same time, the cafe's parking lot was filled with cars from customers trying to find a parking space in a small, crowded lot. As I entered the cafe, I was pleasantly greeted by the bold smell of espresso. The café set the tone for the store by playing white. The training lab is very unique as it is the only coffee shop in California to have one. In the lab, you can learn the correct techniques to use to prepare espresso drinks and why you should use these techniques. When I first walk in, I see the giant black and silver espresso machine. Above the espresso machine I see brown cups and next to it I see the silver milk pitchers. On the bar I see a water pitcher with three glasses next to it as well as makers on the side. To my right, I see a plasma TV playing The Cranberries. The laboratory room has the same modern architecture and the same colors as those on the ground floor: black, white and
