    Eleanor Roosevelt had a difficult childhood that prepared her for the life that awaited her. Having had to go through the trials of death, new places and a new family, she knew what it was like to experience difficulties, but that did not stop her from becoming a powerful woman and a great role model. As First Lady, she knew she would face challenges, but she managed to walk away with words of wisdom. In this biography, I will tell you about the life of Eleanor Roosevelt, from her childhood, when she went to school in London, to her adulthood, as First Lady in the White House and beyond. As a child, Eleanor suffered many family deaths. Her mother was the first to die while Eleanor was still young. God forbid her mother didn't think Eleanor was pretty enough for her glamorous life. She died when Eleanor Roosevelt was 8 years old (National First Ladies', par. 6), leaving her to live with her grandmother because her father had been sent to a mental institution.
