Essay / Insecurity and Self-Esteem - 1063
Insecurity digs a hole in a person's heart, minimizes their integrity, and builds up in plaque, preventing any type of future growth. Just as the growth of any human being is stifled by insecurity within him, the United States as a whole similarly suffers from its own insecurity. This lack of recognition of self-esteem causes a terrible chain reaction; people tend to pursue bad ideals, become corrupted, and lead inevitably toward their own demise. There are many songs, poems, and works of art made to ask for help, like this song, all of which show how insecurity in America has become a horrible disease. Throughout history, literature has been used to tell the story of humanity. , and when it comes to insecurity in America, many authors have not been afraid to talk about it in their novels, even if many of their characters. Two good examples of this are The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald and The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams. In The Great Gatsby, Gatsby himself is one of the main examples of insecurity. Throughout the book we as the reader see how much he does with his money for so many people just so they can love him..
