    The relationship between the environment and humans is sacred and constantly evolving. Both Native Americans and English settlers used the land to their advantage, but they had different goals in mind. The English colonists were more interested in creating civilizations and killing animals for profit. Native Americans were more interested in using the land and the animals they killed efficiently. Native Americans were born warriors, they were uneducated and suffered from a lack of agricultural abilities, but their ability to adapt to their environment was unmatched and gave them a greater appreciation for the land they lived on. The English settlers were more advanced than the Native Americans in agricultural techniques, but they had difficulty adapting to the climate of North America since they were new to the land. Both the Native Americans and the English settlers were dependent on the land, but they both had much to learn from each other's techniques. Native Americans lived much more naturally than the English settlers. In Timberlake's Memoirs, the author recounts how Native Americans used rocks, trees, and handmade axes to create objects like hammers, canoes, and weapons. He also says that Native Americans created their own clothing from two kinds of clay, red and white. Native Americans created their own weapons, hunted for food, and had few or no crops to live on. Their innate abilities as warriors allowed them to become exceptional hunters allowing them to live on food for the moment and use the fur of animals in the long term to make their clothing. As businesses expanded and dams were created, trees and other plants were torn down and nature as it was disappeared forever. Today we are faced with problems that are almost impossible to overcome. We will be fighting global warming and deforestation for years, based on what our past generations have done to the environment.
