    Chapter Two: The Literature ReviewIntroductionThe arts are not a new idea in education. The Ontario Ministry of Education has made the arts a mandatory component of the school curriculum and the emphasis has led to a variety of programs in schools that are primarily teacher-led, such as choirs, drama clubs and dance teams. In this action research project, the researcher will include research support from other experts in the field of education, particularly arts education, as well as steps to follow for successful integration in the classroom.
