  • Essay / Planet X: Planet Doomsday - 801

Planet X. This looks like something from a science fiction movie. There has been a lot of speculation about whether or not Planet X actually exists. Many people are obsessed with the theory that it exists and have done really crazy things, like threatening suicide, because they are very concerned about the planet. Perhaps this is why it is also called the “apocalyptic planet”. Planet X has also been named Nibiru and is considered the twelfth planet. The name Nibiru comes from a book written by Zecharia Sitchin. The book spoke of a twelfth planet with an oblong orbit. It was supposed to approach Earth every 3,600 years. The book was called The Twelfth Planet. The book tells the story of a group of aliens who genetically modified people to become their slaves. She said humans evolved on Niribu and colonized the planet in a previous orbit. Aliens reportedly returned to Earth to wreak havoc in 2012.1 The whole idea of an “apocalyptic planetary collision” began with a lady named Nancy Lieder. She started talking about planet collisions in 1995 and believed she had an implant in her brain that gave her the ability to receive messages from aliens. She claimed she could communicate with aliens and was sent to warn humans that there would be a collision that would end life on Earth. She predicted that this collision of planets would occur in May 2003. When the event did not occur in 2003, Lieder and her followers decided that it would occur in 2013. This corresponded to the end of the Mayan calendar. Many linguistic experts believe that Zecharia Sitchin got it completely wrong when he translated an ancient text and claimed that a group of people called Sumerians didn't think there was that much paper.... .. middle of paper ......ogy to prove this Planet X either exists or it doesn't exist. I think it's a way for people to continue to write and sell a lot of books on the subject. I admit that I knew nothing about Planet X before writing this article. I also admit that I am skeptical of its existence. I don't think I'm going to go out and prepare for the big collision and the end of the world because of this information.4Works Cited1 WOLCHOVER, NATALIE. “BELIEVERS IN THE MYSTERIOUS PLANET NIBIRU, COMET ELENIN EXPECT THE END OF THE EARTH.” (JULY 24, 2011): N.
