That being said, serial killers are just human like the rest of us – they can suffer from everyday mental illnesses, just like many high-functioning people in today's society. “Serial killers are often misrepresented and misunderstood,” but they are able to blend into society to the point even where people don't know they are a serial killer. I think it's because serial killers want to be normal, so they try to fit in and not get caught. Once a serial killer is caught, his name is forever tainted and people will never be able to look at him the way they once did. Serial killers may have malicious thoughts and actions, but doesn't everyone have such thoughts at least once in their life? Does that make you a monster?
