    Having legalized prostitutes conducting their business in one location, such as in brothels or in specific identified areas, would help identify those who are illegal or trafficked. Just as important in the fight against human trafficking, recognizing free prostitution would allow police funds to focus their efforts on catching the real criminals of forced prostitution. If prostitution were legalized, police would not have to spend countless hours and money trying to eliminate it and protect the community from it. Some of the real crimes are thus overlooked, as are the real victims of forced prostitution. Resources, time, and energy that can help real victims of sex trafficking are wasted on saving those who don't want to be. It is very counterproductive financially when everyone is put in the same basket. Criminalizing prostitution forces it into the underworld, where legalizing it would bring it more into the light so that human trafficking can be easily combatted. Legalizing brothels allows the government to have more control over the prostitution industry and gives it more ammunition to prevent the illegal and forced trafficking of exploited and coerced women..
