Such a strategy “is a subtle means of establishing a sense of community [and] implying a common identification, goal, and struggle” (Stewart, Denton and Smith 145). However, United We Dream still lacks the “substance” of consubstantiality in many of its messages. These shared images, ideas, and attitudes are necessary to get non-Latino immigrants to identify with and participate in the organization and increase their membership. The group, which promotes the diversity and dignity of all immigrants (Web United We Dream) seems to focus all of its messages and resources around the Latino image. United We Dream can improve some of its current strategies, such as storytelling, using the concept of consubstantiality from identification theory, and can also develop new materials aimed at certain non-visible immigrants who want to be noticed and receive resources and feel part of a group in which they can share similar things
