Essay / Gender Roles in Islam - 1117
In fundamental religions, people pray to both male and female deities. Life is found in all things animate and inanimate. Women are considered more equal when religions are fundamental. Women can be shamans, meaning they are the bridge between the physical and spiritual world. The first shaman discovered was a woman. Shamans are part of blacksmithing, horticultural, nomadic and agricultural societies. Women shamans were respected for expressing themselves in patriarchal societies. The shamans who share their bodies with their possessions are also mostly women. Today, when a religion is founded and institutionalized, women are not included in leadership positions.
