Esteban Trueba is a very aggressive character who seeks potential in creating a prosperous environment for his family. He is very violent towards everyone who comes into contact with his presence, but not in all situations. Any arrogant character like Esteban has a flaw in his actions. Clara is his only love and he is obsessed with her. This doesn't stop him from unleashing his anger on her. He is also very sympathetic towards his granddaughter Alba, with whom he maintains a close relationship. Esteban resembles that of the character from One Hundred Years of Solitude, Colonel Aureliano Buendia. The Colonel is not motivated by anyone and seems to care about his own loneliness. He also carries a weak and caring side to his indifferent personality. Remedios Mascote, his little wife, is the only character who affects him in his life.
