    Introduction: The purpose of this research is to determine if there has been a change in the overall water quality of the Tarpon Basin. Lake Tarpon, and if so, whether the quality has improved or deteriorated. The variables that will determine if the quality has changed are: nutrients (phosphates and nitrates) and dissolved oxygen (DO). The expected changes are lower dissolved oxygen levels (compared to already low levels), higher nitrogen levels (compared to already high nitrogen levels), and state qualifications are still not filled for nutrients and dissolved oxygen (Levy, Flock, Burnes, Myers, Weeds, River 2010). This topic falls under environmental management because changes in water quality are believed to be due to pollution, which begs the question “How does human activity lead to pollution of water supplies?” The hypothesis that will be tested is that the water quality of Lake Tarpon will have deteriorated since the last measurements taken by Levy, Flock, Burnes, Myers, Weed and Rivera in 2010.
