  • Essay / Harmony In Harmony - 791

It's the wonderful process of nurturing and fostering tranquility so that this fragile bond doesn't crumple at first contact. Often, the man takes this friendly relationship for granted because he believes that it will maintain itself. However, it is quite the opposite. Take Malaysia for example: after gaining independence on August 31, 1957, Malaysians thought they would be safe from colonization, wars and suffering, only to be plagued by political and racial problems between them. Inevitably, Chinese-Malay sectarian violence broke out in Kuala Lumpur, leading to the deaths of hundreds of Malaysians. Thus, there is no doubt that both parties must be willing to collaborate despite differences in social backgrounds, races, beliefs and religions. Maintaining tranquility is a quiet but extremely important step in preventing history from repeating itself.
