    When we hear the word Egypt, the first thing that usually comes to mind is the pyramids. But what do we think of when we think of South Africa? The first thing that comes to mind is poverty. Although the two regions are on the same continent, their individual aspects of political, economic and social development differ significantly. To some extent, both countries suffer from poverty, but South Africa is more exposed and is not changing as quickly as other parts of the world. Egypt is a place of tourist attraction and beauty, but beneath the layer that visitors see is the heart of Egypt which involves few educational opportunities, low GNI per capita, lower life expectancy and poverty. South Africa, on the other hand, has some aspects that are better than Egypt and others that are much worse. Although poverty has been a major problem to be solved worldwide through donations and different organizations working towards the complete eradication of poverty, poverty still exists in every corner of the world. One such belief that is used to presume why poverty exists heavily in certain regions is the type of government system used in said region. In Canada, democracy governs the country with equality and freedom, but in Egypt and South Africa, there are different methods of government. This article will show that Egypt and South Africa rely on their political regime type to determine their rate of development. This may be what causes them to be less developed on a global scale, given that they are both not subject to a basic political regime like most developed countries. For example, Egypt is the only country negotiating Palestinian unity between Hamas and Fatah (The Guardian). The Egyptian Free Internet Initiative provides all Egyptians with free Internet access. Egypt is working to protect coral reefs located in the Red Sea and is also working to promote cleaner air and alternative energy sources (EWS). Finally, education is free in Egypt throughout university or post-secondary elective education (SIS). Although Egypt has a lower level of development than other parts of the world, from a humanitarian perspective the nation is striving to become more developed and make it a better place to live through free education and to become a country where life is good. a “greener” state ».
