The Medieval Synthesis in the Arts ca. (1000-1300) Gothic church from the 13th century. The cathedral church of Chartres is one of the most important in France. After a fire in 1134, the city of Chartres destroyed the west facade of the cathedral. The reconstruction of the west facade between 1145-50.
