Personally, I believe that I have gained valuable knowledge in my English classes. Recently I am about to finish my third English course at university and it has been a good experience, these courses have helped and influenced me a lot in my writing. I believe I have done more than just improve my writing skills. I gained knowledge of rhetoric and genre, and I learned the writing process and how to appropriately enter a conversation without losing my own writing style. The first English course I took in college was a basic introduction to writing. During this course, we learned how to write a good essay, we learned techniques to improve our writing, and we learned how to organize our ideas and present them logically. We had a lot of discussions and during this course it was the first time I participated in a peer review. My second class I took was with the same professor, Mr. Braun. I believe he was an excellent educator and he truly showed interest in helping his students. That's why, when I had the opportunity, I chose him as my teacher.
