These people's vote would prevent legalization from passing in their state. • The reasons these individuals and groups would oppose this action include that it harms traditional marriage, that it infringes on their religious freedom, that it is unconstitutional, and that it is unnatural.• The strongest reason given by these people is that same-sex marriage is unconstitutional. The constitution defines marriage as the union between a man and a woman. Any deviation from this definition is unconstitutional, and therefore a marriage between a woman and a woman or between a man and a man is unconstitutional. • The weakest reason given by these people is that it harms traditional marriage.
