    The first recorded text teaching Christianity has its roots buried deep in Judaism. The birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, as the Messiah, created a new ideology of worship. The Messiah is the savior of all men and all sins. Paul brought the message of the Messiah to the Gentiles. His missionary journeys and the creation of churches allowed the message to be spread throughout the Roman Empire. Christianity gained acceptance; those who believed in the Messiah separated and began to worship on their own. This marked the beginning of the split between Judaism and Christianity. Christianity experienced many pitfalls on the path to its flourishing. As in history, we find ourselves today relearning the lessons of Christ. The early Christian faithful endured many trials that today's society does not experience. These differences in science, technology, and lack of practice of our beliefs have caused a divide between early Christianity and Christianity today. Christianity borrows many aspects from Judaism. The Hebrew Scriptures of the Old Testament were used in early teachings, but Christian believers interpreted them in a different way. This interpretation leads to a fundamental change in ideology between Jews and Christians. In addition to Scripture, Christianity adopted many rituals of worship practiced within the Jewish synagogue; such as prayers, baptisms and communion.
