Essay / The Holocaust is one of the worst events in human history
The Holocaust is one of the worst events in human history. Thanks to the vision of one man, genocide tore Europe apart again and again. He was Adolf Hitler, an Austrian-born man who fought for the Germans in World War I. After World War II, Hitler joined the Nazi Party. After years of dedication to the party, he rose through the ranks and became the leader of the Nazi Party. After publicizing the party and growing it, Hitler became a politician and decided to run for public office. He was elected the new German Prime Minister. He changed the laws so that if the chancellor were to die, the prime minister would become the new chancellor. Once Hitler became Chancellor, history would be forever changed by his actions. Hitler created laws, called the “Nuremberg Racial Laws,” that established barriers for the Jewish people. The laws would impose a curfew on all Jews and prevent them from using public transportation. Over time, the Nuremberg Racial Laws developed, eventually restricting Jews from owning a business and separating them from the rest of the country. They were forced to attend Jewish schools. These actions are very similar to Jim Crow laws in the United States during the period of segregation. The racial laws created by Hitler expanded to include more people, including the mentally, physically disabled, and people of color. In 1936, the Summer Olympics ventured to Berlin, Germany, the center of Nazi power. Racial laws were suspended during this two-week period, almost to send a message to the rest of the world that Nazi Germany was a great place where everyone was equal. As the world ventured into Berlin, all signs of racism and discrimination were removed to hide the dark truth. They tried to present themselves as a nice friend... middle of paper... possible. Once a side runs out of resources for the murderers, they abandon it to avoid being killed by the Allied forces, who now have the fire in their bellies to prevent the mass genocide committed by the Nazis. Today we look back on the holocaust as one of the most horrible. acts committed by humans. One man's vision turned into a sad story of death for more than 11 million innocent people. Each of these people was the son, daughter, wife, husband, mother, father of someone they truly loved. It is physically not possible to put into words the true emotion of this period. We have an obligation as members of society to never let something like this happen again. High-ranking members of the Nazi Party were tried and convicted of the war crimes they committed during this time. Anne's story is just one of 11 million people who have experienced similar stories and met the same fate..
