  • Essay / Live your life to the fullest - 923

I love life and I love living to the fullest. So far, life has treated me pretty well. There have been a lot of ups and downs, but so far nothing has stopped me. I treat every day like it's a new day because I'll never know what's going to happen next. I have been involved in several accidents in recent years. To name just a few of my mishaps, I now have seizures, I now have a spleen (weak immune system) and I have three screws and two plates holding me together. When I was 14, I was climbing onto a bunk bed and fell. I hit my head on a dresser and got the biggest cartoon knot on the back of my head. Since that night in 1994, I started having seizures. I guess I dropped something in my brain. I have been taking seizure medication for over 20 years and so far so far so good as long as I take my seizure medication. I stopped taking it in 2009 and had a seizure from that day on. I take my medications as prescribed by my doctor. I am the doctor of love, but not the doctor of crises. Another accident I had was a serious bicycle accident and because of that I don't have a spleen, the spleen is one of the many filters in your body that helps with colds. It was a hot spring day in 1996, I was riding my bike home from Athens Drive High School, suddenly I flew over my handlebars and landed on the sidewalk at five in the morning on Tryon Rd. Traffic was at a standstill and no one came out to see if I was okay. My left arm was bleeding, my bike handlebars were bent, and I was bleeding internally, which I didn't know at the time because I had knocked the wind out of my body. I picked up my bike and pushed it to some local apartments where I know people. They walked in... middle of paper... his weight, a sharp pain going up my leg. My arm wasn't as bad. All they did while waiting for surgery was set him up with a temporary cover. The doctors operated on my right pelvis and my left arm on the same day. I had to have two for a special. I was in the hospital for about a week. I was discharged the following Monday and had a long road to recovery. After I came home I had to start physical therapy and it was pelvic pain. So over the last 34 years I've had a lot of accidents, they slowed me down but nothing stopped me. Since my accidents, I have gone skydiving, traveled to different countries, run two 5Ks and had many adventures in my life. I live life to the fullest and enjoy every minute of it. I advise you to do the same. I think I have at least four lives left. We will see.
