For most beauty pageants, this may seem like a waste of time and it may seem like another way to make women feel inferior to each other. However, I have come to discover that this is one of the many myths that surround such a beneficial opportunity. Young women learn many valuable lessons that will help them throughout their lives. These lessons can range from a wide variety of things, from overcoming shyness to raising awareness about a certain issue through a platform, or even winning scholarships.
