  • Essay / My professional experience in a primary school - 867

My professional experience in a primary schoolFor my professional experience, I received an internship at a primary school. It is located in Wyke, Bradford and provides education for children aged three to eleven. I attended High Fernley Primary School for two weeks; my internship started on September 27 and ended on October 9. Every day I arrived at 8:30 a.m. and normally finished at 3:10 p.m.; sometimes I worked a little longer to complete tasks. I did not attend a pre-placement visit due to a delay in confirming placement. Nonetheless, I called High Fernley as soon as I received the confirmation and spoke to the school administrator, Ms. Julie Malinder. I introduced myself and thanked them for accepting my internship. I asked important questions regarding dress code, arrival times and lunch arrangements. Before the internship, I was excited because I was looking forward to it and I knew I would like the school environment. However, I was also nervous because I would be working in a different environment and I would be playing a different role as a teaching assistant and not as a student. I had a basic idea of what this position would entail and had already thought about the skills, abilities and qualities I hoped to gain through this experience. I hoped to gain more knowledge about the work environment, what it was like and how it was different. it’s about student life. I also wanted to develop my communication skills by speaking to adults and children and participating in class discussions. I was also hoping that it would give me a taste of this type of work and help me decide if I wanted to do a simi...... in the middle of a sheet of paper...... unify effectively with large groups of children. In the future, I would like to continue improving the above skills in order to feel confident in all work situations. Overall, I had an excellent, fun and memorable work experience. I have enjoyed most aspects of this type of work and have learned so much and feel I have become more competent and improved as a person. The only parts I didn't enjoy were when I had nothing to do; I always like to do something productive and active. I don't know what career I would like to pursue in the future but I would like to get involved in an active job where I wouldn't get bored. I would also like to do a job that involved music or sports. Additionally, I would like to have a job where no day is exactly the same and I can learn something new every day..
