Essay / Analysis of the Blueprint for Evangelism - 935
IntroductionRobert Coleman wrote the “Blueprint for Evangelism.” The author is a remarkable teacher in both fields; discipleship and evangelism at Wheaton College at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, where he serves as director of Billy Graham's Center Institute of Evangelism. This book takes not only a humble, but also an extremely astute approach to the approaches Jesus demonstrated as a disciple while he walked the earth. Coleman also includes several principles that Jesus applied regarding discipleship through the process of: (1) Election (2) Association (3) Consecration (4) Transmission (5) Demonstration (6) Delegation (7) Supervision and (8) Reproduction. Coleman informs his readers that the Church often neglects to continue the work that Jesus began to win souls and preserve them in His established work. New converts must follow Christ forever, always learning and growing in Him. The author wrote this book with the goal of encouraging God's people to engage more deeply with the teachings of Jesus and follow the principles he demonstrated in order to be consistent and effective in evangelism. Summary The author begins with “The Master”. and his plan » There is a strategy for winning souls and it is always done with love and according to the Scriptures. Jesus knew that his time on earth would only be short, so he focused on training a few individuals who had a willing heart to learn and a determined will to follow so that they would become leaders and reach the masses (p. 22). He returned to the Father and the Church would grow and God would be glorified. The second chapter is entitled “Association”. Coleman explains that Jesus' method ...... middle of paper ...... applied. Personally, I will do better by being aware that I am a living epistle read by others and I will be more consistent in my evangelism so that the world sees Christ in me at all times. This book served as a gentle reminder and helped me stay on track with the mission at hand, which is to have the right heart, right mind, and spirit of God when sharing Gospel, of winning souls and making disciples, so that those we teach and lead will be trained to do the same to those they lead and this process must continue until His return. I found this book full of valuable nuggets based on Scripture that I will apply in my daily life. . It could also be extremely beneficial for anyone who is focused and committed to practicing these eight effective principles of evangelism in fulfilling the Great Commission..
