    Rock and roll never officially began without a real artist named Buddy Holly. Holly was a pioneer in the new wave of rock and roll with Elvis Presley. No matter what Holly did, his fans never seemed to leave him and fell in love with a style of music that was uniquely his own. Still young, Buddy Holly still has a musical impact on his fans. Charles Hardin Holley, widely known as Buddy Holly, was a brilliantly talented American singer. (“Buddy Holly Biography,” Buddy Holly) Born September 7, 1936, in Lubbock, Texas, Buddy Holly was the youngest of four. Lawrence Odell Holley and Ella Pauline Holley were the parents of Buddy Holly. (“Biography of Buddy Holly,” Amburn) Holley was born into a musical family. Even though Holley's father, Lawrence Odell Holley, had no real musical talent, he had each of his children learn an instrument. (Drape) Buddy Holly learned to play the piano and violin at a young age. ("Biography of Buddy Holly") Later, one of Holley's brothers taught him to play guitar. (Amburn) Not only did Holley's guitar playing have a sense of skill and individual style, but he also progressed at a great speed that amazed his family. (Amburn) At first, Holley's parents showed no real signs of musical talent. After learning the guitar so quickly and so well, Holley's parents quickly changed their minds. (Drape)As he entered his teens, Holley and fellow guitarist Bob Montgomery began performing wherever they could. (Draped) Between parking lots, grocery stores, school auditoriums, skating rinks and more; there was never a shortage of places to perform. (Drape) With a wave of new artists, people came from miles around to see the entertainment that Hub City, Lubbock, Texas, ...... middle of paper ...... is as short and sweet as one of his successes.
