  • Essay / Visual and Personal Learning Style - 1242

Master said: “live and learn.” No matter what, where or when we choose to acquire knowledge, the way we approach learning is unique to each of us based on our individual learning style(s). It is the idea of behavior that suggests that learning styles are a way of being and can change over time. A good learning style can help us learn better and learn faster. There are generally seven learning styles: the first, visual. People prefer to use pictures, images and spatial understanding. Second, auditory. People prefer to use sound and music. Third, verbal. People prefer to use words, both orally and in writing. Fourth, physical. People prefer to use their body, their hands and their sense of touch. Fifth, logic. People prefer to pursue logic and reasoning. Seventh, people prefer to work together and use self-learning. Our brain can control several areas when we study. Multimodal is therefore a balance between all the different learning styles. For a long time, I have believed that I am a person who likes the visual and physical style of learning. I thought I could learn better and faster by taking a hands-on approach. When I worked for the editorial department of ShuiMu Tsinghus University, I loved working with computers. I like the sound of the keyboard. Because the louder the noise, the better the touch. The physical aspects of handling the keyboard and the visual representations on screen fit perfectly with my preferred learning style. This learning style reflects my normal studies. I like to take notes and highlight important parts of the book, color can help me remember. I use the color of the rainbow to distinguish important levels. The sad thing is that I can't rent any books because the librarian won't let me add color. As an international student, language grades are really important to us. For the last 3 years, I have taken the IELTS quantum test. My average rating is 6.5; the average writing grade is 7.0; the average score in oral expression is 7.5. the average reading score is 6.5; the average listening rating is 5.5. I have tried many ways to improve my listening quality, but none of them work for me. I'd rather learn how things work by using them myself than by listening to someone tell me how to use them. In the IELTS test, people speak faster than normal people. Without guidance, it is difficult for me to identify the main point of the information presented, and it is almost impossible for me to remember what people just talked about. And this is the main reason why I don't want to take the TOEFL test. Because in the TOEFL listening test, the only thing you can do is follow people who are talking as far away as possible. Due to my poor listening skills, PPTs and handwriting are important to me. During class, I try to write everything down, even though I can download the PPT online. If I don't copy the teacher's handwriting or the PPT, I will sit in my chair like a fool. I also try to observe the facial expression and body language of the teachers. When they look down, they are trying to remember or order their speech. Most of the time they stop talking because they are ready to change the subject or try to say something beyond his speech, so I will move on to the next line
