Essay / America's mistake in the Bay of Pigs - 834
Did you make a mistake? Well, the United States made a big mistake on April 17, 1961. The mistake was a secret mission organized by the CIA that was approved by President John F. Kennedy. The goal of the mission was to overthrow some Castro officials because the United States was becoming concerned about the growing relationship between Cuba and the Soviet Union. The U.S. government provided B-52 bombers for this mission. The Cuban Mafia and Cuban revolutionary forces were all part of the mission. The mission was a complete failure, a few days after it began, Castro's forces surrounded all the fighters and captured them; Most of the fighters were returned to the United States. There were nuclear war exchanges between the Soviets and the United States. A US spy plane captured photos of nuclear missile sites on Cuban soil, which many believe was the result of the US invasion of Cuba during the Bay of Pigs. . One of the biggest effects of the Bay of Pigs was the relationship between the United States and Cuba. One of the two major consequences was trade between the two countries.
