Design Analysis EssayBCM 110In this essay, I will analyze the poster of the movie "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl". This film was released in 2003 directed by Gore Verbinski and was a huge success at the box office and received excellent reviews. It also made Johnny Depp the superstar he is now and stars other actors such as Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley. The genre of the film is an action adventure film with many other elements. As we can see, the main colors used in the poster are gold and red, which matches the theme of the film which is about different pirates. The color gold may refer to the golds and jewels sought by the pirates in the film and the color red may connote the pillaging of ships and destruction of land, which is the point of this film. Starting at the top we can see the name of the main character. star actors of the film. Below each actor's name, we can see their photo in their character costumes. This shows that they are the main players in the film and play a huge role in the story. Showing the main actors of the movie on the poster is a great way to attract people to watch the movie because the female audience would definitely watch the movie with attractive people like Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom in the lead role and it would also let hear that there would be some. romance between Keira Knightley and someone else. The other important thing we can see is that the guy left in the middle and played by Johnny Depp is holding a sword and a gun and wearing a bandana. This obviously means that first of all, he might have a more influential role than the others, which is why he is in the middle. Second , holding weapons shows the...... middle of paper ......r . Despite the darkness and all the fighting and destruction, this is a Disney film, which means this film is suitable for both young people and adults. This is a great poster because it gives all the information people need to decide whether to watch a movie or not. ReferencesJaved, E. (September 13, 2011). Analysis of movie posters.
