John Keats even wrote until the day before his death. As mentioned earlier, in his poem In Seeing Elgin Marbles, Keats compares his current situation knowing that he has a lot of work left to write but not enough time to write it. Similarly, in his poem When I Have Fears That I May Cease to Be, John Keats begins by saying that he fears he will run out of time to write something worth remembering. Denis Donoghue comments on this work by saying: “In its relaxed abandon it has something sordid and ignoble, like that of a badly behaved young person. . . The sensual man speaks there, and the sensual man, poorly brought up and poorly trained. . .” It's safe to say that Kris Sheaff was concerned that he wouldn't have enough time to achieve his goals. After hearing the devastating news of his condition and subsequent surgery, Sheaff set his sights on completing his degree. She didn't expect to travel the world or play volleyball again, she just wanted to graduate. With the support of the community and especially her teachers, Kris Sheaff graduated, only to die in June 1990. Like Keats, Sheaff was driven and determined. His colleagues would say his work ethic is second to none and inspiring.
