Elvis Aaron Presley, born January 8, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi, grew up listening to gospel music from the Pentecostal church (rockhall 1). Presley “was the guy guys wanted to be, and the guy girls wanted to hang out with” (Di Luca 1). He influenced fashion, American dance, music and became one of rock and roll's first sensations. As Di Luca says in his article: “Her talent, her beauty, her sensuality, her charisma and her good humor endeared her to millions of people” (1). Presley had a major and lasting impact on American fashion, dance and sexuality, as well as music. Presley's fashion sense has profoundly influenced the fashion world today. Her wardrobe ranged from sequinned jumpsuits and capes to pink shirts and black leather pants (Ocala 1). He was the expert on stylish glasses and leather jackets. (Di Luca 1).
