  • Essay / Culture and socio-economic level - 698

Socioeconomics is determined by income level, education level and occupation. All of this can impact your quality of life. Wilting is simply being able to provide for the basic needs of life, or even knowing how to manage your health. Although these factors are a factor in a person's life, they do not take into account free will to change status. This means you are not locked into one socioeconomic status your entire life. Markers of chronic stressful experiences in adolescents. (http://www.apa.org) We see this repeatedly in the book The Boy Kings of Texas with Domingo and his brother's use of marijuana, alcohol, prescription drugs, and other illegal drugs . We can also see other mental issues like depression and that he writes openly about his therapist. I think the most common example we see in the book is in chapter 21, he's drunk and in a mood, he disfigures El Jardin, he feels betrayed and he writes "Because I was trying to lure the attention of this school again. Like I needed a parent's attention again. This is important because most low socio-economic children are left without both parents, because their parents both work, leaving these children feeling abandoned and fending for themselves...
