Essay / Reflection of the film 'The Big Kahuna' - 1584
The Big Kahuna Reflection Essay While watching the film The Big Kahuna, I discovered many underlying issues and themes that allow me to reflect on my life at King's University. When a person begins a journey in life, they usually have certain goals in mind, but these goals will likely change over time as we grow in life. “The Big Kahuna” takes place in a “hospitality suite” with three men anxiously waiting to land a big account for industrial lubricants. The film is primarily a dialogue between three people talking about their business strategy, sales goals, the cutthroat world of industrial lubricants and how Big Kahuna can transform their lives. The film is about three men, Larry (Kevin Spacey), an affably cynical salesman, Phil (Danny DeVito), a recently divorced veteran salesman, and Bob (Peter Facinelli), an idealistic green children's salesman. Larry is a born salesman, direct and confrontational. His character is based on the game of selling the product, as his point of view is to simply hustle and treat people only as badges. Larry's personality is nervous, sardonic, and very competitive. Phil is a quiet, seasoned veteran of the business and recently divorced from his wife. Phil is considered more laid back and closer to chords. Bob is the idealistic green child and the rookie of the three salesmen. Bob is considered the “new kid on the block,” and he believes the best tactic to land a big account is to have a really meaningful conversation with the person. Each character in the film shows how God relates to Him in their lives. I discovered at this point that the film revealed a message about how our relationships with God can influence our choices to establish lasting, substantive relationships with others. Our honesty in li...... middle of paper ...... continue to grow and learn life lessons daily to help us develop our character and accept our past regrets. My time at King University helped me accept that I cannot change the past, but that I can look to the future and have the ability to choose my own destiny by interacting with others. This course taught me that Christianity is a big part of our lives, but we also need to accept other people's views and opinions on how to live our lives or how we should act on a daily basis. The purpose of the film was to open our eyes to the different opinions of the world and see if we could encourage others to live their lives to the fullest, and possibly impact a person's life to make the decisions necessary for a best relationship. with God. We may never fully discover the true meaning of life, but we continue to learn from our mistakes in life..
