The Internet has become a virtual reality in which people can do whatever they want. This has contributed to the increase in Internet crime. Even if it constitutes an increasingly significant share of crime, cybercrime will not be the only form of crime; it is not possible that crime simply exists on the Internet. In some ways, Internet crimes are worse than physical crimes, because the Internet is like a virtual reality for online predators. They can be whoever they want. Additionally, it is not very difficult for an experienced hacker to impersonate another person. ("Computer Crime - Definitions") However, certain types would no longer exist, making the elimination of other types of crimes unrealistic. These include all types of physical crimes. Some examples are: drunk driving, shoplifting, murder, etc. The Internet is becoming an increasingly dangerous place because you can be anyone you want on the Internet. Computer crimes can be divided into two groups. The first group is the one that targets computer networks. viruses, code, hacking, spam and vandalism (“Computer crime”) The second group includes crimes using computer networks. These include identity theft (the most common Internet crime), Internet scams, cyberstalking, fraud, harassment. drug trafficking, cyberterrorism, copyright infringement, child pornography and disposal of stolen goods (black market). (Hinderance) All of the crimes listed above exist successfully on the Internet. However, Internet crimes cannot be persecuted online. law enforcement cannot exist solely online.
