For this next essay, I had to write a visual analysis of a product, using both artistic decisions and contextual evidence based on the product itself. From there, I decided to choose an ad for FIFA 16, a video game released only a week before the mission. Being both an artist and a football fanatic, I knew the essay would be relatively simple. Two minutes after watching and analyzing the ad, it was much more like reading the artist's intentions on the page. The choice of a red Canada jersey contrasting with the green diagonal lines made it clear to me where the emphasis was. Not to mention the United States' history with Canada when it comes to women's soccer. The hard-fought quarter-final of the 2012 Olympics probably also contributed to this choice. Of course, additional research needed to be done, but I started with talents, interests, and prior knowledge that allowed essay two to be relatively straightforward.
