    Some people believe that talent and a winning attitude are all you need to succeed in your endeavors, but a winning attitude means having determination, which many people lack. As seen on wisdomforthesoul.org, “True leaders are ordinary people with extraordinary determination. » Determination is an important factor in the overall success or failure of a person's efforts. Unfortunately, determination is not something that comes easy for the majority of people. To be truly determined, a person must first be passionate about what they do. Passion, however, is only the first step towards resolve and determination. You must have a clear goal in mind and be ready to do anything to achieve this goal. Once they focus on the task at hand and will not allow obstacles to get in their way, then they have reached the state of true determination. This is how a normal person can move mountains, how an earthly society can fly to the moon, and how we as a society can do things we never thought possible. The word determination comes from the Latin “determinare” meaning to set limits. Looking even further into the word, the prefix de- (which means to remove) and the terminal root, which means limits, form the word determination, which can be found at etymonline.com. So now how does this play into the sense of determination we have right now? Personally, I work hard to set high limits, or even remove them altogether, in my efforts. The downside is that I'm always looking ahead, and never looking at the present, which isn't exactly ideal, considering how short-term goals turn into long-term destinations.
