    According to (Smith, 2010), the distinctions that exist between pedagogy and andragogy in Knowles' hypotheses are essentially that learners in pedagogy are dependent and learn what society expects of them. In pedagogy, learners must adhere to and follow specific rules to succeed. Additionally, they have to depend on other people to achieve their goals. On the other hand, adult learners progress toward independence, learn what they need to know, and are self-directed when teaching methods include discussion and problem solving (Smith, 2010). In one of the articles on Knowles' assumptions, it is explained that andragogy is based on at least four crucial assumptions about the characteristics of adult learners, namely self-concept, experience, willingness to learn, learning orientation and motivation (Smith, 2010). ). These principles will inform my coaching experience with my colleague. During the interview, I asked questions about self-concept in which I explained to my colleague that I was there to help him succeed and move from being a dependent personality to being a autonomous human being (Smith, 2010).
