(Ans) Collaboration can be defined as a process in which two or more people or organizations work together to achieve common goals by sharing knowledge, learning and building consensus. To explore the nature of the practice of collaboration, the author specifically focused on some of the concepts that challenge individuals involved in a collaborative alliance. Two main concepts were explored to justify individuals' challenges. These are (i) collaborative advantage and (ii) collaborative inertia. There are dilemmas between these two concepts. Both terms create a dilemma and a question arises: "If achieving collaborative advantage is the goal of those initiating collaborative agreements, why does collaborative inertia so often result?" » [Huxham, C, and Vangen, S. p-53] These two concepts highlight the reason for what is always taken for granted in collaboration and what actually happens. Such perspectives lead to collaborative inertia, even if the goal is to achieve collaborative advantage. (i) Collaborative advantage – This is the positive experience of collaborative alliances, which reflects the synergy argument. The term has been defined as the beneficial factor or combination of factors that should be achieved through collaboration. A partnership that addresses social issues that would otherwise collapse and contributes to development is defined as a collaborative benefit. To understand the meaning of collaborative advantage, we need to know the common foundations of collaborative advantage. These basics include –Access to resources – One of the reasons to collaborate is to leverage resources.
