As the chart shows, our education ranking is below average, especially among African American and Hispanic children, compared to other states. If this is the outcome in primary school, what should we expect by 8th grade. With all the various reforms passed over 30 years, the public school curriculum has not improved, nor has our standing in relation to the rest of the world. Although, under each presidency, a monitoring tool was developed to check the level of learning based on the test. In states where students passing their test equals more school funding and school stays open, there are jobs for educators. So object to teaching students the necessary information that educators taught on the test. This is because politicians are not addressing the root issues that keep children of color from being in a low socioeconomic status due to cultural bias. Then there is the political climate of education, including ignorance toward vocational schools and real-world learning. Additionally, changes in policies aimed at addressing the poor standards of the public school education system did not solve the problem because before a program could begin, another president came to power and staff were replaced. Educational policies developed by the federal government have left state and local government in uncertainty and in a state of flux. Essentially, there was no consistency in the implementation of programs aimed at improving the educational outcomes of children from disadvantaged communities. Due to the inadequacies of the public school system and the inability to address class sizes, crumbling school buildings, and children dropping out of school, charter schools and voucher programs were created in the middle of the paper. .... did not instruct anyone to integrate it into the college program. By not providing this as part of the school curriculum, children of color are missing out on their heritage and not learning that people of color have made significant contributions to society through inventions. Causes The cycle of low academic achievement is so prevalent in poverty-stricken communities that the political system takes advantage of it. . Politicians continue to keep their jobs, their political power and education is power. This is because illiteracy inhibits the knowledge required to vote for a qualified candidate. “Economies with low or high levels of education can escape the poverty trap, and inequality plays a key role in determining whether this happens through a change in institutions or through an expansion of education” Eicher.
