Christians believe that Jesus Christ was sent to Earth to fulfill Old Testament prophecies. Christians believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose again three days later. Jesus Christ ascended into heaven after the third day and now sits at the right hand of God the Father in heaven. As Christians, we await the day when Jesus Christ returns to judge the living and the dead. But before the day of judgment arrives, we are called to “go and make disciples of all nations” (Bible). The previous verse mentioned means that as Christians we must spread the gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ, to everyone and give them the opportunity to accept Christian belief and have eternal life in heaven when Jesus Christ will return. The Christian faith, even though I didn't have a church to live in until I was four. My mother grew up in the Catholic Church, my father was influenced by the Baptist Church, and I grew up in the Lutheran Church; growing up, I had the opportunity to experience these three different denominations of Christianity. Although I was born into the Christian faith, I remained according to my own choice. I am proud to call myself a Christian! Each denomination of Christianity is unique in one way or another. Each faith regards the Bible as its sacred text, believes that Jesus Christ is the son of God and died for our sins, and believes in the Trinity God (the father, the son, and the Holy Spirit). Differences between Christian denominations range from the interpretation of the Bible to the holy sacraments of baptism and communion. I have been influenced by three denominations of Christianity; these denominations are the Catholic Church, the Baptist Church and the Lutheran Church. I'm a Christian, I'm Lutheran, and one day I will be a Director of Christian Education where I hope to help others understand what it truly means to be a Christian!
