Situation Analysis Identifying Problems and Opportunities Global Communications, once a major company in the telecommunications sector, faced shareholders complaining of failing returns and depreciating stock values. Abundant competition was aggressively intensifying, with local, long distance, and international markets competing for the same business, and cable companies offering comprehensive solutions that included both cable television, high-speed Internet service, and telephone service packages digital. Global Communication is currently on a mission to reposition itself to become a global leader in communications. Opportunities will come from outsourcing and the creation of new call centers in India and Ireland that will reduce costs, increase technical sophistication and improve profits while increasing business growth. They have joined forces with a wireless service provider and now offer satellite broadband and video services. This allows the focus to be on the small business owner and having unlimited access. Stakeholder Perspectives/Ethical Dilemmas The board is concerned about the company's rebound. Comparing the stock from three years ago to today, the stock has depreciated by more than 50 percent.
